Jonathan Davey, MD of LiaiseOnline and creator of Business in Berkshire -one of the first and most prominent online business communities in the area, has just launched Business Alerts. “We recognised that our readers were becoming overloaded with 20-30 messages in a single email newsletter and many of the interesting features, news items and stories were being overlooked in the volume. We have therefore made the decision to discontinue the Wednesday edition that focussed on PR. Instead we are going to introduce a new service called Business Alerts which we will distribute to our regular readers. These Business Alerts will have a very clear subject line and contain a single message. This way the reader can quickly appraise whether to open the email or not within 1 second of the email landing. This saves everyone’s time and energy, ensuring only interested parties open the communications and that items of real benefit are not missed.” Business in Berkshire is a strong online business community and many of those that have micro sites connect and do business with others who appreciate the power that we offer from a search engine optimisation point of view.
